ALMOST LIKE BEING
IN LOVE
Writers: Lerner
and Loewe
Publishers: EMI April Music Inc
From the album SUNSET AND OTHER
BEGINNINGS (1975)
What a day it
has been
What a rare mood I'm in
And it's almost like being in love
There's a
smile on my face
For the whole human race
And it's almost like being in love
Well the
music of life seems to be
Like a bell that keeps ringing for me
And from the way that I feel when that bell starts to reel
Well, it's, I swear that I'm falling
Yes I know I am falling
And it's almost like being in love
Almost like
being in love
Almost like being in love
Well the
music of life seems to be
Like a bell that keeps ringing for me
And from the way that I feel when that bell starts to reel
I swear that I'm falling
Yes I'm sure that I am falling
And it's almost like being in love
Almost like
being in love
NOTES
Almost Like
Being In Love was first published in 1947 and is from the musical Brigadoon,
which tells the story of a mysterious Scottish village that appears for only
one day every hundred years, though to the villagers, the passing of each
century seems no longer than one night.
As well as the
version from SUNSET AND OTHER BEGINNINGS a live version can be found on
the album ON AIR, which features recordings made for the BBC. The song
also appears as a bonus track on some CD versions of CANDLES IN THE RAIN.
During the
latter part of the seventies Melanie began to perform the song as a medley,
combining it with Beautiful People, often as an encore and accompanied
by Sal Ditroia on guitar. Studio recordings of this version also exist but have
never been released.
